Meet Dr. Marla Donohue
Dentistry has been a true blessing throughout my entire career. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming place for my patients amidst the chaos of life—a space where they can feel pampered and respected while their dental needs are taken care of. Behind the scenes, I ensure everything is meticulously clean and that every detail contributes to making dental visits as stress-free as possible. The greatest joy comes from seeing a patient's happiness and relief after a successful treatment, knowing I’ve fulfilled my purpose.
I'm passionate about offering a fabulous dental experience every visit, and I treat my patients with the same respect I expect when I seek healthcare. I always joke that I’m "allergic to pain," so I do everything in my power, using over 30 years of experience, to eliminate discomfort. There’s nothing better than watching a patient’s confidence grow and their anxiety decrease as we work together to create their beautiful smile.
A Smile as Big as Texas
My path to dentistry was influenced by my grandfather, a Texas cattle rancher, who valued education, but had to leave school during the Depression. When I was a little girl, he always told me as we were riding around in his Chevy truck checking cows, “Make a doctor or a lawyer out of yourself, and don't just go marry some ole boy.” Law didn't fit my personality, and physicians didn't get to spend enough time at home with family, but dentistry… was the perfect fit! It allows me to care for others, be creative, practice hospitality, and continue learning throughout my life. My daughter, now in dental school, is following in my footsteps, which fills me with pride.
Education
I attended Texas Christian University and the University of Texas Tyler for my undergraduate education. I earned my dental degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry - San Antonio in 1991.
Committed to life-long learning, I take continuing education courses keep me up to date on the latest techniques in restorative dentistry, ensuring that my patients receive the best care possible.

Outside the Office
Outside of work, I’m married to Daniel Donohue, DDS, a pediatric dentist. Our children, Clint and Madison, are adults, and Madison is in dental school. We also have two fur babies, Zoe and Duke, who are a delight and joy. I love spending time outdoors—whether it's gardening, mowing the pastures at our farm, or surfing on the lake. I also enjoy exploring new restaurants with family and friends, playing pickleball, and traveling whenever I get the opportunity.
